Sustainable Wales, in partnership with Bridgend Green Network, and supported by BAVO,  is hosting an 'Eco Day' in Porthcawl, to celebrate organisations and groups with an eco-agenda in the local area. The event aims to showcase these organisations, gain new interest and encourage the general public to engage with eco practices. We are offering organisations a table stall to promote their organisations, some may offer an activity or choose to fundraise. The stalls will be situated on the grass area outside the Porthcawl Bowls Pavilion in Griffin Park.

To supplement the stalls Awen Cultural Trust have organised performances from local performers and schools. STEER are organising a recycled art trail around some of the businesses in Porthcawl that will lead to the event in Griffin Park. The Mermaidens are going to perform around the streets of Porthcawl, with the theme of the environment, bringing more people to engage with our event as well as performing at the event itself.

Within the Griffin Park Bowls Pavillion SUSSED are going to host a Fair Trade Café, offering fairly traded tea and Jenipher's Coffee as well as homemade cakes baked with fairtrade ingredients.

We hope the event will be a relaxed family fun day that celebrates local organisations and our environment.

This is a free public event, for all ages, to celebrate the work green and eco organisations do in the local area. Groups will be hosting activity stalls in Griffin Park also informing people of the work they do.

The event will also have a stage and sound system offering open mic opportunities to local musicians alongside performances by the amazing Mermaidians.

Plasnewydd Primary School will be creating some amazing posters and decoration for the day.
