Amelia Rees
Advisor
Amelia graduated from the University of Exeter with a degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics, and focused her studies on how climate change impacts these three avenues. In her final year, she wrote her dissertation on the incompatibility of economic growth strategies and climate change policies and studied modules such as climate justice and economic development.
Since graduating, she has worked as an environmental, social and governance (ESG) consultant in London, working to improve the sustainability of the building and built environment industry. Back in Wales, she is now a member of the Bute Energy Youth Advisory Board, providing a youth perspective on how best to develop renewable energy in Wales.
Amelia is passionate about mitigating and adapting to climate change, and as part of the Bute Energy Youth Advisory Board, spoke to MPs in Westminster about why investment into renewable energy in Wales is important to her and for future generations.
As well as her passion for climate change, Amelia loves sport and plays touch rugby for Wales, she loves upcycling and sewing new clothes, and, having grown up by the coast, she loves making the most of the gorgeous Gower Peninsula beaches.
