Sustainable Wales newest Trustee and Renew mentor Jude Cook, based in Penarth, has one daughter and has been an environmentalist for over 18 years.
“I first became interested in greener living as a teenager and now I’m a mum I’m even more passionate about looking after our planet and resources, to make a better world for our children and their children”, comments Jude.
After graduating from Aberystwyth University with a degree in Zoology, she started her career as an environmental education officer before graduating with an MA in Environmental Management from Newport University.
Since then Jude has worked on a diverse range of environmental projects in south Wales in the public, voluntary and private sectors, from providing environmental advice to SMEs, to coordinating the Environment Wales initiative to developing over 80MWp of large scale solar farms.
Jude is currently a partner at Oren Associates, a renewable energy consultancy. She also works as a freelance consultant offering support with environmental management systems and is a registered auditor for the Green Dragon Environmental Standard, with Groundwork Wales and IEMA.
In her spare time, Jude also runs a small hobby business making upcycled jewellery from broken/discarded vintage china.
Through the Renew Wales programme, Sustainable Wales with her help, can now offer additional support to groups developing their ideas.
